Invest in Your Health, Eat More Salmon

Salmon has been called one of the world's healthiest foods. Salmon is low in saturated fat and cholesterol, high in protein, niacin and a source vitamin B12, phosphorous, magnesium and vitamin B6. It has been said that salmon is known for its high levels of omega 3 fatty acids.

It's a fact that omega 3 fatty acids can help lower blood pressure, increase your memory and combat against high cholesterol. It's also known to fight heart disease, diabetes and obesity. Some doctors believe that it can play a role in fighting against Alzheimer’s disease.

Adding salmon to your diet has never been easier. Most local markets carry salmon in many varieties: fresh, frozen, smoked and canned. You can grill it, poach it and even bake it. You can have it on salads, make it into patties, as well as eat it on sandwiches.

However, I like to wrap a fresh filet in a foil pack with a little dill, lemon and olive oil and throw it on the grill. It couldn't be any easier. When you're finished, you'll have a flaky, lightly seasoned, melt-in-your-mouth, addictive, memory increasing, heart disease fighting salmon filet.
